The holistic logistics real estate consultant Logivest is strengthening its market expertise in Erfurt and is opening a branch at Magdeburger Allee 134. The nationwide consulting company with a focus on logistics properties and locations is thus continuing its expansion course in the east of the republic and is now represented in a total of thirteen cities nationwide.

“The Erfurt region offers great potential. Here, good availability of space – even with regard to large-volume projects – meets a low price structure. Especially in new buildings, rental prices are still very low compared to the rest of Germany, with a range between 5.50 euros and 6.50 euros. In addition, there are around 180 commercial areas and a central location that make the Erfurt logistics region attractive for companies operating across Germany and Europe,” says Michael Starre, CSO at Logivest.

This is also reflected in the demand for space. In addition to e-commerce companies such as Zalando and Amazon, logistics service providers such as Fiege, Rhenus and Zeitfracht GmbH as well as wholesalers and retailers such as Metro and Edeka have settled in the region. Amazon plans to expand its presence in the logistics region this year and move into a four-story logistics center in Erfurt-Stotternheim. But the logistics region is also interesting for the technology and electronics industry. In 2022, for example, the international battery cell manufacturer CATL opened its first factory outside of China in Arnstadt. Through Logivest, CATL rented a warehouse and logistics property with a total area of 54,800 m² in the nearby Panattoni Park in Nohra in 2023. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new building is scheduled to take place this year. The mechatronic system supplier Marquardt has also been based in Ichtershausen for several years.

The Erfurt logistics region is not only located in the heart of the Federal Republic, but is also strategically located in the transport corridor between Western and Eastern Europe as well as Northern and Southern Europe. Due to this exposed location with the well-developed transport network via the A4 and A71 motorways and the rail connection, Erfurt has established itself as a logistics location.

The 280 hectare trimodal freight transport center (GVZ) Erfurt is one of the most important logistics centers in Europe. Companies from the service, logistics and technology sectors have settled there. Another plus point for the location is the nearby Erfurt-Weimar Airport. There is also a good climate in the region for new settlements, for which various funding sources are available.

“Erfurt is another network location for us and an ideal complement to our branch in Leipzig. Our consulting strategy is based on supporting our customers holistically, personally and with regional market expertise. That’s why it’s important to us to be represented locally,” says Starre.

The new location is already staffed by two consultants. An expansion of capacity is planned for the course of the year.
