Nymburk councillors last Friday approved a purchase agreement for the transfer of more than five hectares of municipal land in the northern industrial zone to J&T IB and Capital Markets. A production plant for the automotive parts supplier Linde + Wiemann CZ is to be built on the land. Representatives also approved a planning agreement for the construction of technical infrastructure and roads in the vicinity of the future plant and an agreement on the waiver of pre-emption rights.

In their original application to the town in November 2022, the companies said they saw Nymburk as a strategic location for the relocation of their production programme and future development. The company said 200 to 250 people could find jobs at the production facility in the future, with the ramp-up to be gradual.

The town's resolution states that the company has already concluded future purchase agreements with other landowners in the area. According to the Central Bohemian Regional Authority, the investor's plan cannot have a significant impact on the environment and will not be assessed under the Environmental Impact Assessment Act, the city said in the resolution. "It is now collecting the opinions of the concerned state authorities on the construction procedure and during May the investor will submit an application for a zoning decision and a building permit in a combined procedure," the resolution reads.

Linde + Wiemann CZ is a manufacturer and supplier of metal parts and their assemblies or weldments for the automotive market. It has production plants in Lysá nad Labem, Benátky nad Jizerou and Breclav. At the end of 2022, the company employed 330 people, according to its annual report, with sales of CZK 1.8 billion.
