Ostrava takes place in the event for the sixteen times in a row and its attitude indicates the importance of a conceptual approach to work with investors on a long-term basis. Incidentally, the City is currently coordinating the entire joint exhibition CZECH REGIONS & CITIES designed to demonstrate the strength of the Czech partnership and cooperation. The city would formerly attract investors especially to industrial zones. As those sites are nearly fully occupied, Ostrava is arriving at Expo Real with a list of attractive areas in the historical core on offer, namely, Karolina, Černá louka and a gap site adjacent to Masaryk Square. Investors are free to develop multipurpose buildings there, such as apartment blocks, shops, office buildings, along with educational, community, sports, health care and science and technology facilities. Moreover, what is also intended to play a crucial role in Ostrava´s presentation is information on the new Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC), along with activities stimulated and performed by the MSIC with the aim of extending the base for innovative companies in Ostrava and the entire region. Moravian-Silesian Region will offer investors the industrial zones (Business Area Nošovice which is functionally connected with Strategic Industrial Zone Nošovice, Phase II of the Industrial Zone Krnov – Červený dvůr), the project of Residential Housing in former Dukelská Barracks in the city of Opava and, last but not least, the three visionary projects: the first of them is Slezská Harta Resort where the construction for tourism development and all-season leisure activities is planned near the dam of the same name (in the villages of Razová, Roudno, Leskovec nad Moravicí and Nová Pláň). Further visionary project is Fun Park Ostrava (amusement park planned in the city of Ostrava between Karolina shopping centre and the Lower Part of Vítkovice) and also Technopole, the future multipurpose park for high-tech production close to the city of Ostrava. This project will be a significant impulse prompting the ongoing successful transformation of the economic potential of the Region, along with setting a direction of its further development.
